After two years of comprehensive planning and community participation at its June 10, 2016 meeting, the Board unanimously adopted the Regional Urban Design Guidelines (“RUDG”). This significant action was the culmination of a comprehensive Base Reuse Plan (“BRP”) policy development process led by the Board-appointed RUDG Task Force and FORA staff, with the support from a nationally recognized inter-disciplinary consulting team.

Following unanimous RUDG Task Force recommendation at the May 10 meeting, and subsequent notice at the May 13 Board meeting, the FORA staff is pleased to release the Public Review Draft for a 14-day review period. The special meeting/workshop on March 7 was intended to bring the Board and community up to date with the current draft RUDG content and new interactive website organization, structure and use.
The Board appointed Regional Urban Design Guidelines (RUDG) Task Force has met regularly since April 2014 to steer the completion of these guidelines. Comprised of leading administrators from many of the FORA jurisdictions, this Task Force has been instrumental in completing this policy development task.
Staff received an updated DRAFT RUDG document from DKP on December 31, 2015. In this DRAFT, DKP attempted to fully integrate Board, Task Force, and public input received to date.

The first, on Monday, February 2, focused on all of the jurisdictions within the former Fort Ord, while subsequent meetings concentrated on the immediate vicinity where the hands-on sessions were occurring.
